With eight generally uneventful flights in three months under his belt, I think it's fair to say that Sam is a seasoned world traveller. Following along from our most recent jaunt to Ireland, we have just returned from a wonderful visit to Scotland where we were able to catch up with lots of family and friends. Mr. Moo was unflappable throughout, seamlessly adapting to new places and people without skipping a beat. We were both relieved (as you can't predict toddler behaviour) and delighted that he had so much fun on our trip. To get a sense of just how much fun Sam had, I recommend the following video of Sam's second-cousin Aidan introducing him to the delights of trampolining in Invergowrie, Scotland.
Other highlights of our trip (captured in the pictures below) included visiting with my soon-to-be 96 year-old Gran (Sam's Great-Gran), watching Sam get along like a house on fire with his second-cousin Aidan, catching up with Horace and Helen in Meigle and the Taylors in Blairgowrie, and spying Sam playing tractors with his Great-Auntie Nancy in Aberdeenshire. There were also dizzying discoveries at the Sensation Centre in Dundee, Jack Russell terrier adventures with Iona and toy farm theatrics with Thelma in Westhill, an awesome playdate with Trish's boys in Drumoak, monkeying around with Gruncle John and Sue (known in hushed tones as Great-Auntie Sue), race car races with Great-Uncle Paul, Sam bonding with his look-alike Iain, intermittent but productive shopping sprees (both real and virtual), countless puddings with fresh berries and sticky toffee, and a fantastic home away from home at my cousin Katie's home. Without doubt, it was one of the most pleasant trips that we've had in Scotland, made all the more special with our little man in tow. One more month til you hit two years old and you've already experienced so much. May the rest of your life be as joyful as the past twenty-three months have been!
